Advanced Studies Manager: Stamping

The Advanced Studies Manager will provide, but not limited to:

Overseeing activities and timing for the coordination of Stamping Die & Equipment Advance Planning Activities: Support Capex Roll-ups and Make vs Buy decisions. Work with press loading to develop load plans,

Develop die costing methods based on previous program (surrogate) and support future forecasting.

Coordinate development of stamping launch processes that can be leveraged for global standard launch planning.

Ensure development of Quality Engineering Plans for stamping:



  • Stamping-friendly GD&T
  • Gage designs that optimize repeatability and accuracy
  • Utilize the existing EE Region RCM/FSM systems for dimensional tracking
  • Class A panel surface auditing
  • Ensure SPE systems and data management are supported
  • Lead upgrade and modernization of SPE systems
  • Ensure software licenses are up to date and properly supported by ICT and suppliers
  • Support special studies as required (e.g .giga casting, frame, other businesses)
  • Support Global Governance teams in standardizing best practices (Launch, Capex, etc)

Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or High School Diploma / GED and Journeyman Die Maker



  • 10 years' Die Making and Automotive experience.


  • Extensive experience in planning and forecasting stamping dies and equipment.
  • Proven technical leadership in Die Engineering and Stamping.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning and analysis teams on special projects.
  • Solid understanding of Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Finance methodologies.
  • Knowledge of benchmark global stamping/engineering standards.
  • Thorough comprehension of stamping quality systems, GD&T, and Control Plans.
  • Experience in developing stamping launch processes.
  • Experience in all areas of stamping operations.
  • Proven track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.


Proffered Qualifications:



  • 20 years' Die Making and Automotive experience.
