About the Opportunity:

Washington County Administrative Services Division within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is recruiting for our next people-centered Administrative Assistant who is detail-driven and tech-savvy to help keep our team running smoothly! This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a fun and engaged team and provide important administrative support to HHS. We hope you'll join our team of engaged and mission-driven professionals.

In this role, you'll provide daytoday technology support, coordinate onboarding and offboarding tasks, and maintain accurate technology inventory records. You'll partner closely with the Sr. Administrative Services Manager, route contracts for signature, support records management activities, and serve as a dependable backup for other administrative functions across the team.

This role provides administrativelevel technical support. The Administrative Assistant will troubleshoot routine issues, assist staff using established procedures, and coordinate technology needs such as onboarding, offboarding, and equipment tracking. More complex system issues, programming, system configuration, and advanced troubleshooting are handled by the Technology Services Department. This position partners closely with Technology Services to route, track, and support resolution of those escalated issues.

Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of general administrative practices, office procedures, and customer service principles.

  • Understanding of basic technology support processing, including troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with records management and document handling procedures.

  • Skills in using office technology and software, including productivity tools, databases, and/or other data tracking systems.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and apply procedures consistently.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot routine issues and escalate complex technology needs appropriately.

  • Skills in gathering, tracking, and maintaining accurate data and inventory records.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. equivalent;AND Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience related to office management or a major administrative function for a department or division.

  • Possession of an Associate degree or Professional Certification in business administration, public administration, or related field may substitute for two (2) years of required work experience.
