About the Role

The Manager of Trading Analytics leads analytical efforts that inform pricing strategy, risk management, exposure control, and market efficiency across the sportsbook. This role sits at the intersection of Trading, Analytics, and Product, delivering insights and tooling that improve margin performance, price competitiveness, customer risk management, and market growth. Managing a team of 2-4 data analysts, this leader builds models, monitoring tools, and predictive insights that empower Trading to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Trading Performance & Margin Optimization

  • Partner with Traders and Trading Analysts to build analytical frameworks that measure margin health, exposure risk, price competitiveness, and market performance.

  • Build predictive models for liability forecasting, volatility estimation, trading limits, and customer risk detection.

  • Support the Trading Risk team to improve customer profiling accuracy to identify sharp action, arbitrage, syndicates, and risk patterns.

Real-Time Monitoring & Operational Decision Support

  • Collaborate with the Trading Development team on real-time dashboards for price deltas, liability alerts, exposure tracking, and market imbalance.

  • Partner with Trading and Product to validate odds feeds, automate pricing rules, and optimize trading parameters.

  • Conduct post-event analysis to diagnose pricing accuracy and margin drivers.

Modeling, Experimentation & Algorithmic Development

  • Support the development and improvement of automated trading models and pricing systems.

  • Run controlled experiments to test new trading strategies, market settings, or pricing policies.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on building model-ready datasets for trading decisioning.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a team of trading data analysts.

  • Maintain standards for analytical rigor, speed, and quality across the team.

  • Support career development and upskill team members in statistical modeling and trading logic.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key analytical partner to the Trading leadership team.

  • Provide insight into competitive pricing, market-level performance, and risk exposures.

  • Work closely with Product, Finance, and Operations on initiatives impacting Trading.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Business, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 1-2 years in a people management or lead role.

  • Experience in the online gaming industry preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or R and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

  • Experience with statistical modeling, A/B testing, and customer segmentation techniques.

  • Familiarity with online gaming platforms, trading systems, and related technologies.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to balance day-to-day execution with longer-term goals.

  • Clear communicator with the ability to present data insights to cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Collaborative team player who works well in cross-functional environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop analysts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-growth industries such as online gaming, e-commerce, or digital media.

  • Familiarity with attribution modeling and incrementality testing.

  • Experience in customer experience, commercial, or VIP analytics.

The annual salary range for this position is $116,000 to $152,250. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support BetMGM's responsible gambling policies, procedures, and initiatives.
