Overview

Postdoctoral Position in Neuroimaging of Developmental Risk for Mood and Anxiety Disorders

Our lab focus is developmental contributions of sensory systems to mood and anxiety disorder risk. We use neuromodulation, psychophysiological, behavioral, multimodal neuroimaging, and neuropsychological/clinical assessment approaches in peripubertal children, adolescents, and emerging adults.

Responsibilities

This position is for a NIMH-funded longitudinal functional MRI (fMRI) study of threat perception in children. Other current lab projects include analysis of extant fMRI datasets related to visual perception, as well as fMRI processing and analysis of ongoing longitudinal studies of internalizing symptoms in cisgender and transgender youth. Our lab is small and growing, with a diverse grant portfolio that includes funding from private donors, the NIH, and foundation awards. The PI is a neuroscientist and a committed mentor who can provide guidance in grant and manuscript preparation as well as neuroimaging and psychophysiological methodological expertise. The postdoc will have the opportunity to author manuscripts, present their work locally and at national conferences, submit grant applications, build their professional networks, and engage in clinical research in a supportive learning environment. Diverse mentorship references for the PI are available upon request.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field and have a strong background in fMRI data analytic techniques. Computational and quantitative skills are highly desirable. While there will be opportunities for data collection and assessment training if desired, the primary focus of this opportunity is data analysis.
