What to Expect
The Parts Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing inventory control, procurement, storage organization, and material flow for automotive production and prototype operations at Tesla. This position supports vehicle development, prototype builds, validation testing, and low-volume production programs by ensuring accurate part tracking, revision control, and structured material organization. Managing warehouse logistics, shipping, receiving, forklift operations, and tire inventory systems, the Parts Manager maintains efficiency, traceability, and readiness across engineering and production activities. The role operates in a fast-paced environment, combining automotive warehouse, engineering shop, and office settings with exposure to vehicle components, tools, machinery, tires, wheels, and industrial materials.

What You'll Do
  • Organize, label, and track prototype automotive components for development and validation builds
  • Inventory and label parts removed from prototype and production vehicles, maintain part numbering systems, and ensure accurate records in ERP/MRP systems
  • Coordinate sourcing of custom, fabricated, machined, and OEM automotive components
  • Forecast material requirements based on engineering and build schedules while monitoring and reducing obsolete or excess inventory
  • Segregate tires by program, compound, size, and test application, and coordinate tire mounting/dismounting schedules with engineering and test teams
  • Prepare, pack, and secure packages and pallets for outbound shipment while coordinating freight carriers and logistics for vehicle programs
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse layout with clearly defined zones for parts, tires, wheels, fabrication materials, and consumables

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive parts, materials, or inventory management
  • Experience supporting vehicle builds, prototype programs, or automotive manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with OEM part systems and automotive supply chains
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain, with safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for inventory tracking and management
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
