Overview The AMI Implementation Technical Architecture Team is seeking a Systems Specialist Application Administrator Team Lead. This role leads support for critical AMI enterprise applicationsHES, MDMS, and MAMSensuring timely implementation and performance alignment. The candidate should demonstrate commitment to excellence, exemplary customer service, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include system maintenance, team leadership, and planning for capacity, performance changes, new systems, and upgrades. Candidates should have five years working on large projects, strong leadership abilities for meetings and training, advanced MS Office skills, and experience with Linux operating systems. - Lead a team to diagnose and resolve AMI application related performance issues, and present findings, resolutions, conclusions and other relevant details to IT senior management.
- Ensure the integrity and availability of the AMI related infrastructure and develop strategies to minimize system downtime. Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Perform system configuration, testing and system performance reviews.
- Lead the effort and work with application vendor resources to identify forthcoming application patches and hotfixes.
- Lead the team to work with customer/user groups to identify bug and enhancement requests to be delivered to vendor(s).
- Work with other Con Ed IT resources from groups such as application vendors and application support.
- Responsible for the upkeep of MDMS instances running on Linux Operating Systems
- Develop and document associated application standards to be used as a basis for technology implementation and operational support
- Identify areas for infrastructure improvements to enhance performance of applications and application servers
- Ability to lead technical projects as required
- Oversee the daily tasks of the system analysts to ensure that operational practices are being adhered to
- Provide daily reports of the overnight batch processes which are critical to the integrity of the systems, to the systems manager
- Automation and processes required to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor internal applications.
- Lead the implementation and management of build and deploy workflow processes related to product development.
- Manage and support of infrastructure and development applications including continuous integration, source code management, and hosted applications.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure successful delivery and implementation of assigned tasks.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant full-time work experience. or
- Master's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant full-time work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
- Must be able to lead a technical team, delegating tasks, managing project progress and deliverables, required.
- Strong Cloud experience (Oracle, Azure, GCP or AWS), required.
- Strong experience Azure DevOps(ADO), CICD pipelines, required.
- Strong AI knowledge (Azure Foundry, Google Cloud Vertex AI), required.
- Experience with messaging (ActiveMQ, Kafka), required.
- Strong scripting skills (Perl, bash/Shell, Python/libraries), required.
- Strong Web development skills (SocketIO, JavaScript, Java, Flask.), required.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) including Agile Development Methodology, required.
- Experience with observability and logging platforms (Grafana/Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk) required.
- Experience with developing technical documentation, required.
- Work with application vendor resources to identify forthcoming application patches and hotfixes, required.
- Work with customer/user groups to identify bug and enhancement requests to be delivered to vendors, required.
- Experience with architecture planning, preferred.
