Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator ensures accurate, timely tracking and reporting across the full recruiting lifecycle. This role manages key transactional activities, including Workday processes, while delivering a welcoming, personalized experience for every candidate. By facilitating seamless transitions between interviews and next steps, the Coordinator helps create a smooth and engaging hiring journey. The position also identifies opportunities to improve efficiency by addressing process gaps and enhancing existing workflows. As a brand ambassador, the Coordinator actively champions the university's vision, culture, and values throughout the recruitment process.

This is a fixed-term position with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2026.

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate for the position of Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Performs talent acquisition transactions across the recruiting lifecycle, including managing applicant and candidate information in Workday and initiating background checks and onboarding activities for new hires. Maintains responsive, proactive communication with recruiters and hiring managers to address and resolve outstanding questions or issues efficiently.

  • Triggers key communications and tasks for candidates and hiring managers at appropriate stages of the recruiting process. Generates and analyzes reports to provide actionable data insights in support of talent acquisition and hiring teams. Contributes to the execution of recruiting strategies aligned with broader talent initiatives.

  • Provides responsive support to the recruiting team by processing transactions accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining high-quality data integrity. Appropriately escalates and routes urgent issues and requests through established channels to ensure prompt resolution.

  • Identifies opportunities to automate manual tasks to improve consistency and efficiency. Actively solicits and incorporates feedback from hiring managers, recruiters, and the broader team to drive continuous improvement. Stays current with recruiting best practices and relevant technologies, including Workday modules.

  • Demonstrates alignment with the strategic priorities of the organization and the university. Fosters an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued, respect one another, and are empowered to contribute through their ideas, words, and actions, in alignment with the USC Code of Ethics.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the position of Talent Acquisition Coordinator has the following qualifications:

  • 4 years of job-related experience or transferrable skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, communications, or another related field.

  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and human resource information systems (HRIS).

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate for the position of Talent Acquisition Coordinator must meet the following qualifications:

  • 2 years of job-related experience or transferrable skills

  • Associate's degree; Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

  • Experience in talent acquisition.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience working in an office or department support role, performing data entry/reporting.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collaborate with teams.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with experience coordinating logistics for events.

  • Ability to provide support as needed on projects and exercise discretion with confidential information.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

The budgeted salary range for this position is $28 - $32 per hour. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
