Job Description:

The Initial Failure Analysis Technician is responsible for performing preliminary failure analysis screening on semiconductor devices that support root cause investigations and assisting engineering teams in identifying and resolving product issues. This role involves hands-on work with advanced laboratory equipment, meticulous documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Conduct initial failure analysis on semiconductor devices using techniques such as optical inspection, electrical testing, and basic non-destructive analysis.
  • Operate laboratory equipment including microscopes, curve tracers, X-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records of analysis procedures and results.
  • Support engineering teams by providing timely and reliable initial analysis data.
  • Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure proper handling of sensitive materials.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for lab processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in electronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor industry or related laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
