Education and Experience: Associate's degree in Information Technology and three years of experience in LAN/WAN or server support. Graduate coursework or relevant experience may substitute per policy.

Overview

Under direction, this classification supports day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of network systems in a data center environment. Installs, maintains, and monitors hardware, software, and network configurations to ensure system performance and security. Entry-level role in the Network Data Center Operations Administrator series. Performs diagnostics, configuration backups, and preventive maintenance. Escalates complex issues and supports implementation of network solutions. This class differs from Network Operations Administrator-Advanced in that an incumbent of the latter plans, coordinates, and implements enterprise network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system issues using diagnostic tools.
2. Perform preventive maintenance and configuration updates in the data center.
3. Monitor and analyze network performance, server usage, and security alerts.
4. Document procedures for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
5. Support URL filtering, Global Traffic Manager (GTM), and IP voice/data services.
6. Collaborate with IT staff to implement network solutions and upgrades.
7. Train team members on network systems, tools, and procedures.
