Leidos' Defense Systems is seeking a talented Entry Level Mechanical Engineer for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). The CHGB is the Army's #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical data package (TDP) artifacts such as engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME standards.
  • Support production by troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate within integrated product teams to support drawing updates and production activities.
  • Implement engineering solutions in coordination with the Responsible Engineer.
  • Interpret engineering specifications and drawing structures to complete model and drawing modifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or Hypersonics.
  • Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings using PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles/tolerance stack-up analysis for parts and assemblies.
  • Understanding of cost and schedule impacts associated with engineering deliverables.
  • Experience supporting fast-paced or rapidly evolving development programs.
