What to Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Mapping Specialist to support our Supply Chain Organization in strategic procurement topics with a focus on increasing Tesla's visibility and understanding of upstream suppliers and their impact to the business. The role will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify upstream suppliers, in some cases to the raw materials. Supply chains will be assessed for various risks to support Tesla's supply continuity and efficiency, increase transparency, as well as facilitate compliance with the growing number of regulatory requirements. A successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of how global supply chains operate, preferably in the automotive, energy or technology sectors. The ability to quickly develop a level of trust with internal and external stakeholders across commercial as well as trade teams will be essential. The role will interact with both key leadership personnel as well as day-to-day operations on a regular basis and hence require the ability to perform hands on operational tasks as well as strategize on longer term solutions.
What You'll Do
- Manage Tesla's current supply chain mapping processes, and identify areas of inefficiency, driving process, system and training improvements. Engage directly with Tesla suppliers, educating them on the importance of mapping their supply chain, and Tesla's processes
- Engage with supply chain managers to understand current efforts to map commodity supply chains and work to maximize value through risk identification and increased supply chain efficiency;
- Collaborate with Tesla's internal applications teams to improve existing supply chain mapping tools, increase tool uptake, and thus Tesla's understanding of upstream actors. Support the development of analytics tools to improve stakeholder understanding of upstream suppliers
- Leverage internal and third-party tools to understand and minimize Tesla's exposure to human rights risks, support regulatory compliance, and beyond-compliance opportunities for positive impact
- Work with existing or identify future third-party providers to help manage data quality and improve value to Tesla
- Develop and lead trainings for internal and supplier audiences on relevant topics and Tesla's expectations for supply chain transparency
- Collaborate with global teams to enhance Tesla Responsible Sourcing efforts and methodology
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Supply Chain, Systems Management, Regulatory Compliance, Business, Communications, or Sustainability and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
- 3+ years of strategic and operational supplier due diligence experience in automotive, consulting and/or tech industry supporting supply chain regulatory compliance
- Extensive knowledge of supply chains and experience working at identifying and interacting with upstream suppliers. Background in supply chain sustainability, responsible sourcing preferred
- Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide succinct results-oriented supply chain expertise
- Experience working with ArcGIS or equivalent systems to build GIS visualizations incorporating multiple data sources preferred
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple internal stakeholders

Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
