A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Chemical Biology, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey to conduct research investigation into the role of metabolism in cancer. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain strong training in biochemistry, quantitative metabolism, and cancer research under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, as well as guidance to pursue an independent career. Candidates with a strong motivation and a Ph.D. background in biochemistry/cell biology/analytical chemistry/nutrition are encouraged to apply. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Conducts research experiments and laboratory techniques of a specialized nature to understand the role and mechanisms of nutrient supply for supporting tumor metabolism with the goal to unveil new therapeutic strategies.
- Being able to effectively work with mouse and cell line cancer models and perform quantitative metabolism and biochemical analyses.
- Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.
- Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, lower-level professionals, and technicians in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, etc., to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
A Ph.D. with a background in biochemistry, cell biology, analytical chemistry, or nutrition. |
