| Essential Job Duties |
The Interdisciplinary Communication Specialist plays a key role in developing and implementing communication strategies for Woodson Hall activities and spaces, with a focus on video display wall content. The position coordinates outreach among stakeholders in the College of Sciences (CoS), the Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs (
OUIP), and other colleges and units, working to provide a robust suite of scientific and research content for the building's large display walls.
The position liaises with university IT professionals and with commercial providers of audiovisual systems and content management tools to support technical operations and foster the building's success as part of a signature interdisciplinary initiative for the university. The incumbent works within the Libraries Communications department to collaborate with stakeholders on the design, production, and scheduling of video wall content, including its coordination with planned events. The position reports to the Director of Libraries Communications. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

- Demonstrated understanding of the ways in which a communications and public information program can advance the mission of an academic institution
- Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing and in oral and written communications
- Science journalism or science communication experience
- Ability to foster an environment of belonging and well-being
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, including the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
