About The Role

Summary

We are seeking an experienced RE Loan Assistant to join our team. This role will support the functions of a high producing Mortgage Loan Officer by performing clerical duties, including verifying, compiling, and completing mortgage loan application information and providing exceptional customer service.

The starting compensation pay for this position is $29.12 to $30.23 per hour. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain real estate loan files from application through closing
  • Set up new loan applications and accurately input borrower data into loan origination systems, orders credit reports and prepare disclosures
  • Assist with automated underwriting submissions, review files for accuracy, alerts, and compliance standards
  • Track loan pipeline milestones, Reg B deadlines, and documentation needs to ensure timely progression of each file
  • Request and follow up on missing or needed items from borrowers; ensure files are complete prior to underwriting and closing
  • Verify, compile, and update information needed for processing and underwriting
  • Facilitate and maintain communication between the Mortgage Loan Officer and borrowers, Mortgage HUB, branch staff and internal departments, real estate agents, insurance agents, closing agents, and outside vendors to ensure timely processing of the loan file
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with all parties to ensure a smooth loan experience
  • Respond to general inquiries regarding real estate loan status and requirements, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team member
  • Support the coordination of closing activities and scheduling
  • Run pipeline and closed loan summary reports for Real Estate Manager as directed
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of loan programs, procedures, lending guidelines and technological resources
  • Responsible for complying with Bank policies, procedures and security requirements

  • Completes all required bank training within designated timeframes, ensures full understanding of training materials, and proactively seeks clarification or additional guidance when needed
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that align with and support the mission and core values of the Collegiate Peaks Bank, while consistently representing the bank in a professional manner. This includes maintaining a professional image, upholding confidentiality, demonstrating a positive "can-do" attitude, ensuring good attendance and punctuality, and exhibiting flexibility, and adaptability to meet both bank and customer needs. Additionally, keep your work area tidy, maintain customer privacy, and attend and actively participate in required meetings.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Two to five years of banking experience required
  • Two years or more experience in an Assistant/Administrative role. At least one year of related Mortgage experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA and Conventional Procedures preferred
  • Ability to learn additional computer applications
  • Knowledge of mortgage or lending terminology
  • Knowledge of basic mortgage principles
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough and timely manner
  • Demonstrate a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and multi-task with strong attention to detail and accuracy, manage multiple deadlines, demonstrate self-motivation and ability to follow through with tasks
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the bank in a positive manner and maintain credibility with others
  • Ability to produce work within directed timeframe without compromising integrity or quality of work
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information obtained during performing job duties; adhere to Bank policies and procedures regarding confidentiality

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
