Payroll Assistant - Westlake, LA

Pay: $23.00-$29.28/hour | Contract (12+ months)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support payroll processing for a refinery site in Westlake, LA. This role ensures accurate timekeeping, payroll data entry, and compliance with company policies while supporting Workforce Software (WFS) enhancements and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, audit, and correct employee timecards to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Maintain employee time, labor, and leave data in Workforce Software (WFS).
• Perform daily and pay-period audits for hours worked, premiums, and balances.
• Track and manage vacation, sick time, and attendance in accordance with company policy.
• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to ensure accurate labor allocations.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation for compliance and audit readiness.
• Generate reports, process rate changes, and respond to payroll-related inquiries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience.
• Experience with payroll/timekeeping systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a TWIC card.

Preferred: Experience with Workforce Software (WFS) and a bachelor's degree.
