POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Lead, Creative, the Multimedia and Visual Communications Specialist is a creative thinker and multi-tasker who knows how to move quickly to capture and tell engaging visual stories. The Specialist will be responsible for concepting/storyboarding, shooting, and editing photo and video content for web and social platforms that drive engagement and support team KPIs. Bringing new ideas to the table to help us continuously test and improve. Responsibilities include shooting and editing videography and photography; coordinating, sourcing, and managing freelance photo and video shoots nationwide; video editing using Adobe Premier, After Effects, and social editing tools; light animation for graphics and text; and management of creative assets. They should possess a "newsroom" mentality (fast-paced, quick turnaround), and a deep understanding of social media, staying tapped into best practices and social trends. They'll tell stories in the Petco Love voice that help people feel inspired and emotionally connected to our work and our brand. They should be comfortable developing and producing creative content across multiple platforms that inspires viewers, helps distinguish our brand and compels individuals to donate and amplify our message. The ideal candidate will be a gifted storyteller and have proven track record engaging people on various platforms through exceptional editorial storytelling skills. A background in capturing and editing photo and video and strong communication skills are essential. The Specialist will be expected to leverage digital tools, technology and platforms to enhance their storytelling and connect with Petco Love's audience. They should have experience using social networks and have a strong understanding of what content is engaging on these platforms and be able to identify and leverage trends. The role will include social creative concept and strategy development, photo and video editing, asset coordination, and content-related project management. RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in photo and video production, and proven success in social media content development with a portfolio of examples.
