Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Faculty rank is determined at the end of the interview process based on a comprehensive review of candidate qualifications and experience compared to established College of Nursing faculty criteria. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor of Clinical Practice, Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice, or Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Instructor of Clinical Practice:
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Current Board certification as an Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Current RN and APN licensures in good standing (any state) Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.
- Current Prescriptive Authority (RxN) Licensure (Any State)
- Must have Colorado RxN license by date of hire.
- Current DEA License
- Minimum of one (1) year Advance Practice experience as an FNP
Sr. Instructor of Clinical Practice:
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Current Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Current RN and APN licensures in good standing (any state) Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.
- Current Prescriptive Authority (RxN) Licensure (Any State)
- Must have Colorado RxN license by date of hire.

A record of demonstrated effectiveness in clinical practice, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Sr. Instructor in an IRC: Clinical Practice faculty track
Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice:
- Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Current Board certification as an Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Current RN and APN licensures in good standing (any state) Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.
- Current Prescriptive Authority (RxN) Licensure (Any State)
- Must have Colorado RxN license by date of hire.
- Current DEA License
- Minimum of one (1) year Advance Practice experience as an FNP
- A record of demonstrated effectiveness in clinical practice, collegial collaboration, and commitment to a program of scholarship to qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor in an IRC: Clinical Practice faculty track
Preferred Qualifications * Clinical experience in a family or primary care setting. * Prior experience working in an academic or teaching environment. * Demonstrated experience performing outpatient primary care procedures, including but not limited to: * Nexplanon insertion and removal * Intrauterine device (IUD) placement and removal * Laceration repair and suturing * Punch and shave biopsies * Incision and drainage of abscesses * Joint and soft tissue injections * Experience managing diverse and medically complex patient populations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and the ability to independently assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice. * Effectively prioritizes and responds to changes in patient condition with appropriate urgency and coordination. * Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete documentation. * Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and academic partners. * Demonstrates the ability to function effectively within an integrated, team-based care model. * Maintains professionalism, adaptability, and accountability in a dynamic clinical environment. * Demonstrates effective clinical teaching skills and commitment to mentoring students. * Ability to manage a full primary care panel and maintain productivity expectations. * Demonstrates attention to detail and adherence to regulatory, credentialing, and compliance requirements. * Willingness and ability to participate in rotating on-call triage schedules * Demonstrates engagement in quality improvement, patient access initiatives, and clinic growth efforts. Conditions of Employment: * Must obtain Colorado RN, APN, and RxN licenses by date of hire. * Must obtain NPI, Medicaid provider number, and complete CAQH enrollment by date of hire. * Must maintain BLS/CPR certification. * Must remain credentialed with participating health plans. * Must work standard clinic hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) with rotating on-call coverage. * Must be able to work in a clinical environment with exposure to biological hazards. |
