Description

The HR Manager will align people, processes, and technology across the Fernley, NV facility. This role is responsible for implementing and streamlining HR operations, enabling continuous improvement, and building an engaged and stable workforce. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, ownership, data-driven decision-making, and leadership, with the ability to influence without direct authority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Put safety first - Always!
  • Lead and foster our "people first" culture.
  • Partner with manufacturing and HR leadership to define HR goals and tactical plans
  • Advise site management and employees on HR issues, building credibility and collaboration
  • Lead all employee relations activities including, but not limited to, investigations, discipline, retention activities, stay interviews, and employee events.
  • Collaborate with HR functional leaders in recruiting, talent development, compensation, and benefits
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization to be an effective problem solver and strong collaborator.
  • Collaborate with other site HR managers and HR leadership to provide input on policy changes and updates. Ensure that policies and practices are up-to-date and driving the desired behaviors and results.
  • Lead local recruiting and onboarding processes
  • Design and implement engagement programs that resonate with hourly and salaried employees, including recognition, communication, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Assess engagement trends through surveys, site observations, and employee feedback, track participation and outcomes, and recommend data-driven improvements to strengthen morale, retention, and productivity across the plant.
  • Coordinate with educational institutions to implement training and development programs
  • Develop HR generalist team into strategic business partners
  • Maintain legal compliance through clear, maintainable HR practices and processes
  • Other duties as assigned



DIRECT REPORTS

Manage and provide ongoing performance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for a team of 2 - 5 direct reports.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and high-trust work environment consistent with Trex values.
  • Establish clear performance expectations; provide ongoing coaching, candid feedback, and recognition.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance conversations to support accountability and development.
  • Identify training and cross-training needs; ensure team members are equipped to perform safely, efficiently, and to standard.
  • Address performance and behavioral concerns promptly, fairly, and in alignment with company policy and HR guidance.
  • Encourage open communication and ensure employees feel heard and supported.
  • Model company values and reinforce expected behaviors in daily interactions.
  • Support change initiatives by clearly communicating expectations and helping team members navigate transitions successfully.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 8 years of broad-based HR experience, including 3-5 years in management as well as an undergraduate degree in HR, business, or related field. Equivalent HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.



  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or similar industries.

    • Strong communication, consulting, and leadership skills



    • Ability to influence without direct authority



    • Detail-oriented with a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving




  • Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience in high-growth or greenfield environment

    • HRCI and/or SHRM certification







SALARY

Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $135,000 annually

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
