Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports research projects in the Wolfe lab (https://ssom.luc.edu/luerec/) by performing lab assays and analyses on clinical specimens for the purpose of understanding the urinary microbiome. Carries out experiments and procedures as instructed by the Principal Investigator (PI) or Lab manager, also assists PI, Research Staff, and Students with lab procedures and projects.
  • Carries out experiments and maintains projects as instructed by PI, with appropriate training.
  • Works as part of a team to process patient samples collected regularly.
  • Monitors inventory of lab supplies and orders additional supplies when required.
  • Gathers, organizes, enters, and analyzes data; performs literature searches and retrieves literature.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures lab environment complies with safety regulations.
  • Performs other or related duties as assigned.
  • Must be flexible to work on weekends occasionally.
