Job Description

3rd Shift Weekend NDT Technician - Borescope Operator
Location: Mentor, Ohio
Shift: 3rd Shift, 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM, Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NDT Technician - Borescope Operator to join our weekend 3rd shift team. This role is responsible for performing optical inspections and fine rework on metal castings, ensuring all components meet strict quality standards. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform borescope inspections of cores for assigned products and metal castings.

  • Identify defects and perform delicate rework using fine tools to ensure product quality.

  • Execute and manage rework procedures on identified defects.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Quality Department and leadership on trends or issues.

  • Conduct visual inspections to confirm compliance with customer and company specifications.

  • Maintain accurate records of daily work, operational codes, and follow number routing card sequence.

  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety procedures.

  • Pass inspections and audits in accordance with customer specifications and company procedures.

  • Maintain a positive, professional work atmosphere with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; preferred experience with borescope devices and excess metal defect removal in cored metal castings.

  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to safety and quality procedures.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented mindset.

  • Able to handle high-stress situations and tight deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work other shifts or overlap shifts as needed.

  • Must pass tri-annual grain/Laue exam and annual eye examination.
