Patient Account Representative - Hybrid \| Annapolis, MD Contract-to-Hire r (W2) Schedule: Mon - Fri: First Shift Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote Worksite: Annapolis, MD 21401 About the Role A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Patient Account Representative to support its Patient Financial Services (PFS) department. This role focuses heavily on hospital billing, accounts receivable followup, denials management, and ensuring timely reimbursement from thirdparty payors. The ideal candidate has strong EPIC experience, excellent problemsolving skills, and a solid background in hospital revenue cycle operations. Key Responsibilities * Perform follow-up on all thirdparty payer accounts receivable, including denials and appeals * Manage and prioritize work queues, denial reports, and focus accounts * Ensure accurate claims submission, billing, and collections to maximize cash flow * Collaborate with patients, internal departments, and payors to obtain needed information * Stay current with all payer billing requirements, federal/state regulations, and compliance standards * Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations * Facilitate resolution of outstanding receivables, escalating issues when necessary * Complete daily standard work related to A/R follow-up and reporting Required Qualifications Must-Have Experience: * 2+ years of hospital accounts receivable followup * 2+ years of hospital denials and appeals experience * 2+ years of hospital billing experience * Hands-on experience in EPIC * Experience with CareFirst / BlueCross BlueShield / BCBS payors * High school diploma or equivalent Hospital experience is required - physician billing experience alone will not qualify.
