Target hiring range for this position will be between $60,000-$70,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Football Video Operations and Data Security is responsible for supporting the management and execution of all aspects of football video operations as well as overall management of data security processes within Northwestern Football. Key duties include capturing, editing, and distributing video footage for coaches, players, and other stakeholders. Additionally, this role is responsible for safeguarding sensitive information within the football program including, but not limited to: student-athlete records, recruiting data, compliance documentation and any applicable financial information, practice and game footage, etc. This position develops, implements, and monitors security practices to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data while supporting institutional and NCAA, CSC, University and Department compliance requirements. This role may also involve overseeing video equipment and technology, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the video department. The department's goal is to deliver high-quality video content to support the success of coaches and athletes. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong passion for training and mentoring Student Video Managers.

Specific Responsibilities:
Data Security:
- Develop and maintain data security policies and procedures specific to athletics operations.
- Monitor athletics technology systems for security risks, unauthorized access, or data breaches.
- Coordinate with the University's central IT and information security teams to ensure athletics systems comply with institutional cybersecurity standards.
- Manage access permissions to athletics databases, recruiting platforms, and internal systems.
- Conduct periodic audits of data storage, access logs, and system security within athletics.
- Provide guidance and training to coaches, staff, and student employees on data security best practices and confidentiality requirements.
- Assist in responding to and investigating potential data security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant institutional policies and applicable regulations related to student data privacy and cybersecurity.
Assist the coaches and football staff with:
- Creating and preparing game and practice video, cutups, digital playbooks, and scouting reports;
- Date entry and research;
- Weekly and post season self-scout analysis;
- Weekly opponent scout analysis;
- Troubleshooting IT and AV problems
Assist the Director of Video Operations with:
- Acquisition and distribution of self-scout, opponent, NFL and study-film;
- Resolving PFF and Big Ten data
- Meeting room setup and maintenance;
- Virtual reality filming and distribution;
- Video and database maintenance;
- Cloud storage management;
- Game day, travel camp and bowl site management.
- Supervision of student staff
- Manage digital signage in football areas
- Assist with Official Visit AV and IT needs.
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference, CSC and the NCAA.
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience working as a student or full-time employee in a Football Video Operations Department required

- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, CSC, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
