Job Description
The Clinical Experience Manager is primarily responsible for leading the various teams who provide services associated with the Leavitt School of Health clinical and field experience placements. This individual oversees Clinical Experience operations including, but not limited to, student placement, coach onboarding, compliance, and establishing/maintaining affiliation agreements. The Clinical Experience Manager assists the Senior Manager(s) of Clinical Experience in ongoing growth and development of the team and processes. The Manager uses independent judgment and exercises creativity to achieve results within defined policies and procedures. The Manager functions in a capacity that has direct impact on functional objectives, applies knowledge that contributes to the development of operational practices, utilizes policies and procedures to develop creative solutions to solve issues and may lead to innovation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students, mentors, other WGU personnel, and outside professionals, i.e. Clinical Faculty, Clinical Facility Coordinators.
- Train staff in day-to-day functions.
- Responsible for all Human Resources functions on the team including compensation, disciplinary actions, and expense reimbursement approvals/reviews.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for team members.
- Hire new team members.
- Manages professional development of staff.
- Address team member concerns and implement disciplinary action, if needed.
- Delegate responsibilities.
- Set team initiatives/goals in alignment with the university and Clinical Experience department.
- Assist with the resolution of student concerns and support staff asthey advise, negotiate, provide intervention plans, observe students, and resolve issues between students and other stakeholders.
- Provide high-level support and consultation regarding escalated concerns, student issues and communications to and from the Sr. Manager and other management from other departments.
- Work in a student relations management system.
- Ensures security and storage of all documents, policies and procedures to maintain the historical record to respond to data requests from Compliance and Accreditation or other WGU Departments.
- Manages long-term projects that support stakeholders, improve the student experience, and develop department and team initiatives/goals.
- Exhibit professional conduct, interaction, and communication as a representative of the company and the department.
- Provides strategic leadership to improve programs and services to support students, WGU stakeholders and external stakeholders during didactic and clinical experiences.
- Oversees and helps provide training and support to stakeholders regarding clinical experiences, compliance, clinical partner/affiliation agreements, and updates to policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or placement setting, including compliance and establishing/maintaining contracts with partners.
- Requires broad management knowledge to lead the department. Generally, has advanced level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Three (3+) years of management/supervisory experience.
- Experience leading process improvement projects.
- Experience handling and resolving student behavior/conduct concerns.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to adapt to nights/weekends, as necessary
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
