What to Expect
Join the Vehicle Dynamics Modeling Team, the system architects behind the driving dynamics that define a Tesla. This role focuses on the testing side of vehicle dynamics, providing hands-on support to collect objective-level suspension data critical for attribute development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate test configurations and meaningful data acquisition, contributing to the signature Tesla driving experience.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct kinematics and compliance testing as well as torsional stiffness testing on new and existing vehicles, including vehicle preparation, loading onto test machines, and data collection and documentation
  • Master the operation of multiple load frames for quasi-static and dynamic testing of suspension components such as bushings, dampers, and springs
  • Provide basic instrumentation support for data acquisition and develop creative solutions for unique testing requests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chassis, NVH, durability, and firmware to ensure proper test configurations for impactful results
  • Operate and troubleshoot the tire test trailer, traveling as needed to build a database of objective-level tire data
  • Work with test equipment suppliers to optimize the use of testing resources for efficiency and accuracy

What You'll Bring
  • 2 to 3 years of automotive or similar technician experience
  • Excellent hands-on skills with shop tools, fasteners, and sensors
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with an interest in exploring new ideas and approaches
  • High attention to detail and adaptability to a fast-paced environment

    Expected Compensation
    $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
