Job Summary


The Clinical Research Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical research activities within the HDFCCC under the guidance of the Clinical Research Support Office Director.

Responsibilities encompass operational support, protocol review and monitoring, and quality control measures. It offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse faculty and staff across the HDFCCC, including those in regulatory affairs, study operations, and scientific review. This role is vital for ensuring the seamless operation of clinical studies, assisting investigators, and upholding regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrates strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent communication skills. The candidate will apply professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Must be able to fully analyze issues and problems, gather data and information, find and evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations. They should be adept at optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance. This position requires the ability to cultivate robust relationships with various departments across UCSF to effectively support clinical research initiatives at the HDFCCC.


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $154,600 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications


  • At least one or more years experience in research administration in a research-intensive environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    to detail.
    Experience planning and implementing meetings (phone, web, and in-person) including scheduling and agenda setting.
    Experience developing program and policy documents and preparing manuscripts for publication.
    Knowledge of research grants and research management.
    Experience managing research project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Proven team and project management skills: organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; clear, concise and courteous verbal and written communications; demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and meet strict deadlines; attention

  • Experience or interest in health policy, including the topics and research methods that TRANSPERS uses
  • Experience managing research projects at a UC campus
  • Experience conducting literature reviews, synthesizing information and data, and drafting research and policy manuscripts
