Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Public Safety Assistant II for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the supervision of the Public Safety Supervisor, this position provides technical, analytical, and administrative support to the Investigations Unit and Records Bureau of the Rutgers Police Department.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides support to the Office of Emergency Management during large-scale planned events and emergencies.
- Responsible for comprehensive surveillance video review in support of police investigations. Gathers and confirms information for employment background investigations.
- Compiles statistical data and reports.
- Assists with unit audits in support of compliance requirements.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- Must possess and maintain a Valid NJ Driver's License.
- Will be required to complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving program.

- Must have knowledge of general investigative and emergency management principles and the requirement for conducting effective emergency field operations.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
