Role Summary

Pinterest helps Pinners discover and do what they love, and enable advertisers to effectively engage with the ideal audience to meet their marketing objectives. Pinterest has grown into one of the world's largest consumer products and advertising platforms, boasting over 600 million monthly active users and generating more than $4 billion in annualized advertising revenue. Our ongoing business success is reliant on our capacity to accelerate product innovation, which in turn allows us to deliver increased value to both our Pinners and Advertisers.

Pinterest is entering a new era-reimagining how trust, safety, and quality are measured, protected, and elevated across the digital landscape. Reporting to Pinterest's VP of Trust & Safety, the Director, Data Analytics - Trust & Safety will lead a globally dispersed team of ~15 data analysts and project/program managers tasked with turning trust measurement into governed, self-serve decision systems for Policy, Ops, Legal, Product, and Engineering. As Director, Data Analytics - Trust & Safety, you will architect and accelerate our shift toward agentic, scenariodriven analytics that measurably reduce timetodetection (TTD) and timetomitigation (TTM) of harm, and make roadmap tradeoffs more defensible across safety, expression, and growth. You'll stand up intelligent agents and scenario workflows where they matter most-incident impact sizing, policy/enforcement "whatif" reviews, and Ops floor playbooks-so decisions that used to take days become consistent, auditable calls made in hours or minutes.

This role isn't just about reporting what happened; it's about building the systems, agents, and simulators that help Pinterest see around corners and respond at the speed of the internet. You will democratize agentic data access, build always-on scenario simulators for abuse, fraud, and content quality, and turn incident impacts into seamless signals for continuous improvement. Your insights and systems will empower every stakeholder-from legal to operations, policy to product-to make bold, data-driven, and context-aware decisions in real time.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Agentic Analytics Transformation: Spearhead the design and deployment of intelligent agents that proactively detect, simulate, and respond to abuse, fraud, and emerging risks-scaling our platform's safety, quality, and trust for the long term.
  • Build Scenario Simulators: Create interactive, scenario-based analytics that allow teams to model risk, test interventions, and validate new policy and moderation approaches before launch-protecting users, creators, and merchants at scale.
  • Automate Incident Impact Scoping: Operationalize automated agent workflows that instantly assess and size the platform, reputational, and regulatory impact of safety incidents, enabling rapid escalation, crystal-clear retrospectives, and lessons learned.
  • Democratize Agentic Insights: Build self-service, agent-driven data tools that empower non-technical teams to ask deep questions, run "what if" analyses, and generate actionable, data-backed outcomes without gatekeeping.
  • Accelerate Multidisciplinary Response: Orchestrate agentic systems that unify signals from operations, policy, engineering, and legal-bridging every function with a single, trusted source of truth for incident response and ongoing intelligence.
  • Benchmark and Elevate Standards: Track and anticipate industry and regulatory shifts, using agent-based and scenario-forecasting analytics to keep Pinterest ahead of risk and help set the global bar for platform trust and quality.

What We're Looking For:

  • Transformation Leader: 8+ years driving major analytics or data science initiatives-preferably including agent-based modeling, AI/ML-driven workflow transformation, or large-scale incident management.
  • Agentic Systems Builder: Hands-on experience designing, testing, and deploying automation, intelligent agents, or scenario simulators for risk, quality, or complex decision support.
  • Incident & Scenario Expert: Skilled in incident impact scoping, post-incident analytics, and scenario planning or tabletop exercises-translating insights into systematic improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Accelerator: Track record of enabling legal, policy, ops, product, and engineering teams to make independent, forward-facing, data-driven decisions via self-service or agentic tools.
  • Storyteller & Evangelist: Exceptional communicator with a flair for making complex analytics and simulations actionable for every audience, and for championing transformation deep into the organization and externally.
  • Relentless Innovator: Passion for positive, safe, and inspiring technology-always seeking what's next and how agents or AI can elevate platform quality and user trust.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
