Overview

NV5's Philadelphia office is building a talented team of landscape architects, urban designers, and planners. Our employees are passionate about improving the quality of life for communities through design. Only qualified candidates with a strong interest and enthusiasm for design within the public realm will be considered. NV5 Philadelphia has completed design for the new Delaware River Trail, which is currently under construction on the eastern edge of the city. Other key projects include the MLK Trail on the west side of the Schuylkill, many other trails and greenways throughout the region; green stormwater infrastructure projects with the Philadelphia Water Department; public playground and recreation center projects with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation; a waterfront park project in Northeast Philadelphia; a schoolyard project with the Trust for Public Land; and streetscape, park and plaza projects in the surrounding region.



Responsibilities

This summer co-op position will include the following tasks: assist the landscape architectural team as needed with plan renderings; perspective renderings; site visits; site analysis; conceptual design; community engagement; design development; and construction documentation. The work will be performed under the supervision of a Principal Landscape Architect.

The position requires the successful candidate to be highly motivated and organized, with excellent attention to detail, and to enjoy working in a fast-paced, but rewarding, environment. Previous experience in a design office is recommended, but not required.



Qualifications

    Currently enrolled in a Landscape Architecture program (Bachelor's or Master's)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino and/or SketchUp
  • Optional experience: Lumion, ArcGIS
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling photo perspectives and other illustrative graphics
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at once
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for design and working within a multi-disciplinary team
