Overview:
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily staffing and scheduling operations. Ensures proper allocation of resources to maintain appropriate staffing levels while adhering to organization policies and regulations. Collaborates with multiple departments to support patient care needs and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
-Coordinates daily and long-term staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all hospital departments.
-Monitors staffing levels and adjusts schedules in response to changing patient census and acuity.
-Maintains accurate records of staff schedules, timekeeping, and attendance data in compliance with hospital policies.
-Communicates with department managers and supervisors to address staffing shortages and provide solutions.
-Facilitates the onboarding of temporary or float staff and coordinates their integration into assigned units.
-Assists in tracking and managing paid time off, shift swaps, and overtime approvals.
-Utilizes staffing software and other tools to create schedules and analyze resource allocation trends.
-Supports compliance with regulatory requirements related to staffing and scheduling practices.
-Collaborates with human resources and leadership to address staffing-related issues and maintain employee satisfaction.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration or in a related Field of study preferred.

  • This role accept experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • Experience in staffing, scheduling, or human resources 2-3 years required.

  • Experience within a healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of staffing and scheduling practices, as well as labor laws and regulations relevant to healthcare.

  • Proficiency in staffing and scheduling software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.

  • Problem-solving skills to address staffing challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Attention to detail is needed to ensure accuracy in schedules and records and compliance with policies.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle complex scheduling needs.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and departments.
