Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Microsoft Configuration Manager Deployment Administrator ("MCM Admin") to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications services globally.

The MCM Admin will be a member of the Windows Services Patching Support Team which provides enterprise-level support for software distribution and systems management using MCM, Windows Server Operating System, and Active Directory in the Consular Affairs environment.

Responsibilities

    Support MCM environments and enterprise software deployment operations.
  • Track, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and deployment-related issues.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure stability in software distribution services.
  • Implement system upgrades and configuration changes in accordance with approved change management processes.
  • Support critical incident response activities in a collaborative, multi-team environment.
  • Create, test, and deploy task sequences for system imaging and operating system upgrades.
  • Manage software packaging, patch deployment, and application distribution efforts.
  • Analyze MCM log files and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and maintain custom queries and reports to monitor deployment status and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, deployment procedures, and service records.
  • Coordinate with Security Operations, program management, and government stakeholders to support operational requirements.
  • Participate in scheduled and off-hours maintenance activities as required.

Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Location: This position is hybrid with remote work and one day per week in the office in Sterling, VA, or Washington, DC. The number of days in office is subject to change based on program or government requirements.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server class systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and deploying software using Microsoft Configuration Manager.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing scripting languages (PowerShell/VB, etc.) to automate software installations and create software packages/applications.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing systems/deploying software updates using Microsoft Intune and/or Azure Arc.
  • Certification in Windows technologies (MCSE/MCSA) or an equivalent combination of training, certification, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and deployment processes.
  • Working knowledge of government IT security standards and best practices.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
