The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient's age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Effective communication skills and basic math skills
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Preferred:

  • Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Nights 11p-7a
  • Every other weekend required, schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
  • Full-Time
  • Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team
  • Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base
  • Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
