Annual Salary: $80,000


MUST:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting.

Strong knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance and wage determinations.

Hands-on experience with Unanet ERP system is required

Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with payroll software.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience with Unanet or other government contractor accounting systems.

Knowledge of FAR, CAS, and other federal contracting regulations.

DUTIES:

The Senior Accountant must have a strong background in federal contracting, with specific experience with month-end close processes and accounts payable operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of government regulations, and the ability to ensure accurate, timely financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

Oversee AP processes including invoice review, coding, and payment approvals.

Ensure timely and accurate processing and entry of Vendor Invoices, Vendor Payments, Billing, Customer Payments

Ensure compliance with FAR and company policies.

Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment issues.

Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reconciliations.

Support the 1099 reporting process

Prepare and submit required government reports related to payroll and labor compliance.

Assist with audits (internal, external, and government) by providing accurate documentation.

Maintain knowledge of evolving government contracting regulations and accounting standards.

Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of all transactions in compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS

Maintain organized audit-ready files and support internal and external audit requests.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for cash and credit card accounts

Analyze variances and provide explanations to management.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support leadership decisions
