Medical Office Specialist - Onsite (Overland Park, KS) Location: Overland Park, KS (On-site) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Work Environment: Fast-paced, multi-specialty clinical practice setting About the Role We are seeking Medical Office Specialists to support both front and back office operations at a busy surgical and specialty practice. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients receive smooth, efficient, and compassionate care. Ideal candidates are positive, team-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities * Manage front and/or back office duties including: * Patient relations and check-in/check-out * High-volume phone calls (80+ per day) * Appointment and procedure scheduling * Insurance verification and obtaining patient insurance information * Collecting and recording co-pays; balancing daily payments * Retrieve, file, and maintain patient medical records and documentation * Enter CPT and ICD10 codes and other clinical information as needed * Support scheduling of surgical procedures and maintain surgery calendars * Complete chart requests and coordinate any physician equipment needs * Update patient records, route calls, and assist with referrals * Cross-train to support other office areas as needed What We're Looking For Must-Have Skills * Strong multitasking ability * Excellent customer service (in-person and phone) * Ability to handle sensitive patient information * Great attitude, reliable work ethic, and strong teamwork skills Nice-to-Have Skills * Patient check-in/check-out * EMR/EHR experience (eClinicalWorks preferred) * Healthcare insurance knowledge (verification, prior auths, referrals) * Patient scheduling * Medical terminology * Experience in a fast-paced clinical office Candidates from the restaurant or hospitality industry with strong customer service and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
