Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000

The Department of Medical Education at the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a Medical Educator to teach human gross anatomy to 1st year medical students, to participate in teaching and/or facilitation of small groups in years 2-4, and to participate in other curricular programs that support undergraduate medical education through various academic responsibilities. The appointee will be expected to participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and continued improvement of courses, provide mentorship to students, and serve as a member of the Stritch School of Medicine faculty. The appointee will also be expected to participate in faculty development activities. |

Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Required qualifications include a terminal degree in basic medical sciences or equivalent and 3 years of human cadaveric dissection experience. Preferred terminal degree is anatomy with preferred experience in embryology and neuroscience. Demonstrated student academic support skills or the clear ability to develop these skills is essential. Other preferred requirements include:
* 3-5 years of teaching experience in gross anatomy medical education.
* Demonstrated ability to lecture, develop student curricular materials, and integrate technology into the curriculum.
* Ability to create and evaluate
NBME-style board exam questions for evaluation of student progress.
* Familiarity with medical physiology, biochemistry, pathology and neurology, as the candidate will participate in and support these courses. In lieu of medical basic science teaching experience, enrollment in the Professional Development Program in Medical Education is a requirement for continued employment.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor students during the M1-M2 years to successfully pass basic science courses and exams.
* Demonstrated ability to integrate technological and social media skills to support learning (e.g., develop online course curricular material).
* Flexibility to participate in curricular events/activities or student tutoring that may occur later in the day. |

| Additional Salary Information |
This salary range is for a 12-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs. |
