The role - what you'll do

Barr is seeking a recruiter to join our Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, teams. In this hybrid role, you will support the Human Resources group by partnering closely with business units and support groups to address a wide range of hiring needs across the company. You will focus on recruiting, including sourcing, recruiting, and screening qualified candidates for various positions-primarily engineering- and sciencerelated roles, including those that are difficult to fill. This position plays a key role in advancing Barr's strategic growth by attracting top talent, strengthening our recruiting processes, and creating a positive and efficient experience for both candidates and hiring teams.

They are wellorganized, resultsoriented, and detailfocused, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment. Your impact - key responsibilities

  • Recruitment activities: partner with business stakeholders and HR staff members to provide recruiting services, such as posting jobs, leading intake meetings, reviewing resumes, sourcing passive candidates, and conducting initial candidate screens. Serve as a positive representative of Barr, fostering a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

  • Selection and hiring coordination: participate in pre- and post-interview meetings, advise stakeholders throughout the selection process, and provide candidate feedback on offers.

  • Stakeholder collaboration: conduct regular follow-ups with teams to assess current candidates and monitor the effectiveness of recruiting strategies. Participate in staffing and business meetings to learn about the business and share best recruiting practices.

  • Process improvement: participate in or lead special projects, including tracking recruitment metrics and analytics to drive process improvements. Keep up-to-date with trends and innovative recruiting practices.

About the opportunity

  • A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, offices.

About you - required core competencies

  • Education: bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience

  • Experience: Five plus years of relevant experience:

    • Recruiting and talent sourcing aligned with the responsibilities above

    • Developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies

    • Hands-on experience with sourcing and networking techniques, including recruiting on social platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter

    • Demonstrated success effectively promoting employment opportunities to prospective candidates in a clear and positive manner

    • Understanding of current federal and state employment regulations (e.g., EEOC, OFCCP)

  • Software: experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel.

  • Communication: excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Travel: Ability to travel to Minneapolis quarterly or as needed for team meetings.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

Helpful additional experience (not required)

  • Seven plus years of experience in the recruiting and talent-sourcing field.

  • Advanced knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter and executing strategic sourcing strategies.

  • Experience using Workday.

  • Experience with engineering, professional services, or consulting firms with an emphasis on technical recruiting (engineering, scientist, and technician roles).

Compensation: Anticipated range of $85,000-$109,000. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
