Position Description
We are seeking a seasoned and strategicCorporate Director, Enterprise Applicationsto own and lead Modine's global portfolio of business-critical applications. This leader will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our enterprise systems, including our core ERP platform (SAP S/4HANA), CRM, HRIS, PLM and other key business applications. The ideal candidate will be a technology visionary with a deep understanding of business processes. You will lead a dedicated team responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of our application landscape. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our enterprise applications are scalable, secure, and tightly integrated, providing a reliable foundation for Modine's global business operations and strategic growth. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strong team leadership, and the ability to partner effectively with business leaders across the company, all while ensuring the application landscape adheres tosound enterprise architecture principles.This leader will also be a key partner to ourData Analytics and AI teams, responsible for identifying opportunities to embed emerging technologies into our core platforms to unlock new capabilities and insights. Key Responsibilities
- Application Strategy & Roadmap:Develop, articulate, and execute a multi-year strategy and roadmap for Modine's enterprise application portfolio, ensuring it aligns with the overall IT and business strategy.
- ERP Leadership:Serve as the ultimate owner for the company's ERP system (SAP S/4HANA). Oversee its implementation, ongoing support, and future enhancements to maximize its value and efficiency.
- Enterprise Architecture Alignment:Partner with IT leadership to define and govern the enterprise application architecture. Ensure all application projects, enhancements, and integrations adhere to the company's overarching enterprise architecture framework, standards, and roadmaps, driving consistency, reducing technical debt, and ensuring long-term scalability.
- Portfolio Management:Manage the entire lifecycle of all enterprise applications, from solution selection and implementation to integration, upgrades, and eventual retirement.
- Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of application managers, business analysts, and technical staff. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Business Partnership:Collaborate closely with Segment IT leaders and functional business executives to understand their needs, gather requirements, and ensure that enterprise applications are delivering tangible value and meeting operational demands.
- Emerging Technology Partnership:Actively partner with the Data Analytics and AI teams to identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging technologies. Champion opportunities to embed AI, machine learning, and automation into the enterprise application landscape to enhance business processes, improve user experience, and unlock predictive insights.
- System Integration:Architect and oversee a seamless and robust integration strategy, ensuring data flows efficiently and accurately between the ERP and other critical business systems.
- Vendor & Contract Management:Manage relationships with key software vendors, service providers, and implementation partners. Lead contract negotiations and ensure vendor performance meets or exceeds expectations.
- Governance & Standardization:Establish and enforce governance, policies, and best practices for application development, customization, and data management to ensure consistency and security across the portfolio.
- Financial Oversight:Develop and manage the annual budget for enterprise applications, including licensing, maintenance, and project costs, ensuring optimal return on investment.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Experience:12-15+ years of experience in managing and implementing enterprise-scale applications, with at least 7-10 years in a significant leadership role at a publicly traded corporation.
- ERP Expertise:Deep, hands-on experience leading a large-scale ERP environment, preferably SAP (SAP S/4HANA experience is strongly desired).
- Portfolio Management:Proven track record of managing a diverse portfolio of business applications (e.g., CRM, PLM, HRIS) in a global manufacturing or industrial company.
- Leadership:Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing technical and functional teams.
- Vendor Management:Significant experience managing relationships and negotiating contracts with major software vendors and implementation partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education:A Master's degree (MBA or technical) is highly preferred.
- Global Implementation:Experience leading at least one major global ERP implementation or transformation project.
- Cloud & SaaS:Strong understanding of cloud-based (SaaS) application models and experience managing a hybrid portfolio of on-premise and cloud solutions.
- Business Acumen:Deep understanding of core business processes in a manufacturing environment (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report).
