The Speech Pathology Department at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) for a per diem role, primarily responsible for weekend inpatient coverage with the possibility of additional weekday shifts depending on departmental needs and clinician availability. The clinician will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services for adult inpatients presenting with a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders, including dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication impairments, motor speech and voice disorders, and communication challenges associated with acute and chronic medical conditions. Responsibilities include completing detailed clinical swallow assessments, developing evidence-based treatment plans, providing individualized therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary colleagues to support safe and effective discharge planning. The SLP will monitor and document patient progress throughout the course of care, adjusting treatment plans as needed to reflect clinical changes, and will also play an important role in educating patients and their families about speech, language, and swallowing disorders while offering strategies to enhance communication and promote functional success. Experience in adult inpatient care and dysphagia management is required, while familiarity with instrumental swallow evaluations such as VFSS or FEES is preferred but not mandatory.
