Position Title: Masking Technician
Wage: $18.00 - $19.00/hour Shift: 1st or 2nd Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm or 3:00pm - 11:30pm QPS Employment Group is hiring for a company in Elk Grove Village. As a Masking Technician, you'll work with precision aerospace components, follow detailed engineering specifications, and develop valuable manufacturing skills in a highly regulated environment. Masking Technician Responsibilities: - Apply masking materials to aerospace parts and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and process specifications - Use sharp cutting tools safely to prepare masking materials - Work with solvents under controlled exposure conditions, following safety protocols - Produce products that match first article masking samples consistently - Complete shop documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, inspection reports, process techniques, and first articles - Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams involved in de-masking, inspection, and chemical processing - Participate in ongoing training, process improvement initiatives, and periodic performance reviews Requirements for Masking Technician: - High School Diploma or GED - Ability to interpret engineering drawings after training - Proficient use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers - Basic understanding of spec pretreatments including anodize, chem film, passivation, phosphate, cadmium, and abrasive blasting - Physical capacity to see small details clearly, with or without correction - Good dexterity in hands, wrists, and fingers to handle parts and masking tools without damage - Capable of standing for extended periods and handling parts of varying sizes and weights - Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds regularly - Basic computer skills and arithmetic proficiency - Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus schaumburg@qpsemployment.com IND133 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
