Job Description

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the General Manager

Location: Mentor / RP, OH

Education: Minimal of a Bachelor of Business Administration required. Apics Certification, preferred.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience: Ten years of purchasing/material management working with an E.R.P system, and shipping/receiving/stores experience which includes Five years of supervision experience, with E.R.P. Macola scheduling system and Alloy purchasing experience.

Principal Area of Responsibility: Manages the scheduling, purchasing and inventory control functions. Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments, as measured by schedules 5A, 14, 15, 18, and 25A.

Specific Duties:

  • Supervises activities of subordinates
  • Plans and administers department budget
  • Plans and schedules tasks over short and long range periods and assigns priorities for completion
  • Determines and administers policies and procedures relating to shipping/receiving and storage of a variety of equipment, supplies and materials
  • Serves as a liaison for the department and outside vendors in resolving conflicts
  • Ensures timely shipments of the product, within customer's promised dates, specifications and timeline.
  • Responsible for Work in Progress, Finished Goods, and Raw Material Inventory levels, and metrics.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of financial and merchandising records and reports
  • Recommends major equipment and material purchases to director
  • Ensures subordinate compliance with established safety guidelines
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
