Description

RISE is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our multi-divisional organization specializing in Energy Efficiency, Engineering, Environmental Testing, HVAC, and Design. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting operational performance, and ensuring compliance across multiple business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Lead and manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple divisions
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and reporting to leadership
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with operational leaders
  • Assist with revenue recognition and job cost accounting in a project-based environment
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Assist with tax preparation support and regulatory filings
  • Monitor cash flow activity and assist with financial planning initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.



Required Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-divisional, or project-based accounting environment
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines


Preferred:



  • Experience with job cost accounting and revenue recognition in engineering, construction, or professional services industries
  • Experience using Acumatica accounting software
  • Experience working within an employee-owned (ESOP) organization



Work Environment:

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and regularly uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other business machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, on-site, position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday with specific hours to be mutually agreed upon. Hybrid work options may be available depending on location.

There is no expected travel required for this position.
