A Brief Overview

This position requires RRT or CRT. Also requires 2 years pulmonary lab or pediatric respiratory care experience. It is Monday-Friday no weekends or holidays. Shifts range from 7:30-4/8-4:30 or 8:30- 5p. Will depend on person covering. It is mainly ay PHL campus however may be asked to work at one of satellites
The Pulmonary Function Technologist is responsible for performing modalities of pulmonary diagnostic testing offered by the PFT lab with minimal guidance. Provides age-appropriate services to infant, adolescent, and adult patients. Performs calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on equipment within the lab's scope. Professionally interacts with vendors, patients, family members, regulatory agencies, and other medical professionals.

What you will do

  • Performs routine and specialty pulmonary function testing efficiently, while achieving ATS standards.
  • Participates in research projects supported through the lab by learning new techniques and skills to follow studies' required protocols.
  • Teaches skills and provides knowledge to aid department in providing education and orientation.

Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years pulmonary lab or pediatric respiratory care experience Required

  • Ability to apply scientific principals within the framework of the lab. (Required proficiency)
  • Good telephone interaction for assisting in scheduling. (Required proficiency)
  • Computer literacy for performing testing as well as editing data. (Required proficiency)
  • Exhibit a commitment to learning new and evolving procedures. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
  • Osteopathic Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Required or
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Required and
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Tech (RPFT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - within 36 months - Required or
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - within 36 months - Required and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - upon hire - Required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (RRT-NPS) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - - Preferred
