Storekeeper II (2nd Shift) - Niagara AFB, NY

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for warehousing and storekeeping tasks to include acquiring, receiving, identifying, handling, storing, issuing and delivering a wide variety of materials, parts and supplies.

Essential Functions:

May perform all aspects of supply work, including but not limited to, processing requests for supplies, equipment, individual clothing, etc., utilizing Enterprise Solution-Supply (ESS) and/or the Air Force computerized Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S). Determine authorizations; maintain accountability; requisition for stock and customer backorders and perform follow-up; maintain research capability, files and publications. Conduct inventories IAW regulations on all supplies and equipment. Compile reports and reply to various forms of correspondence. All work is within a framework of established supply regulations, policies and procedures or other governing supply management guidelines. May be required to work one weekend a month.

Additional duties include:

Maintaining records of items in stock rooms, warehouses, or storage areas. Counts, sorts or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items requisitioned. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Maintains inventory according to identifying data such as style, size or type of material. Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Assists in periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock. Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes and refusal of shipments. May mark identifying codes, figures or letters on articles. May determine methods of storage identification and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, and floor loading capacities and required space. May be required to cut stock to size to fill order. May pick up and/or deliver property to base customers obtaining appropriate signatures on documentation. May perform other administrative duties as necessary. This job generally requires physical demands such as light to heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing and pulling, bending, stooping and standing for prolonged periods. All work is within a framework of established supply regulations, policies and procedures or other governing supply management guidelines.


Job Requirements




  • Assignments require a good working knowledge of Air Force/DoD OR SIMILAR commercial supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, manuals or other established guidelines.



  • Strong understanding of PC, specifically Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word and Excel.



  • Perform monthly inventory and be the customer interface (via phone and computer).



  • Physical demands: Ability to continuously stand or walk, bend, squat, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.



  • Must be detailed oriented, a self-starter and work well independently.



  • Flexible scheduling to include occasional overtime and some weekend work for emergencies and USAF Reserve support (UTAs).




Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:




  • May be required to operate material handling equipment up to and including 6,000-pound forklift.



  • Required to be licensed and operate general-purpose delivery vehicles up and including 1 1/2-ton truck.




A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
