Job Description

This team member is responsible for the set-up and operation of welding equipment. The team member must also monitor the process and quality of the product and make necessary corrections to the process in order to maintain a steady flow of quality product to the customer

  • Works at different work stations throughout the plant as production needs require.
  • Manage the operating of all types of machines and work to ensure that they are well maintained.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, tape measures, schedules, or product specifications.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines according to the specifications.
  • Welds fabricated, cast and stamped components to assemble tanks and pressure vessels.
  • Place and remove fittings from the cylinders by following appropriate protocol.
  • Inspects cylinders for visual defects.
  • Tests cylinders for structural defects.
  • Work to adjust and operate speed and control the load of the machines.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks defects accordingly.

  • Manual handling with placing cylinders in workstation.
  • May use numerous types of hand tools.
  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.
  • Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
