Join the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) team, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking innovations! We are seeking applicants for a Conference & Event Administrator to assist in planning and executing conferences, corporate events, and special events for SDL employees and families.

SDL delivers advanced multi-domain solutions to protect national security and enable scientific discovery. Our expertise in satellites, sensors and instruments, ground systems and data processing, and autonomous systems plays a critical role in missions supporting NASA and the Department of Defense. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the corporate events/conference manager in the design, development, coordination, and execution of local and offsite events
  • Leading the end-to-end management of assigned events and conferences, ensuring seamless coordination of budgets, marketing efforts, catering, audiovisual services, and logistical operations
  • Executing aspects of event planning from inception to completion, including setup and tear down onsite
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to create events that foster company culture
  • Accomplishing program goals and objectives
  • Maintaining budgets and expenditures
  • Creating detailed event timelines, documentation, and reports
  • Writing copies for event publication drafts

Required Qualifications:
  • Previous event and/or conference planning experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience (5 years)
  • Bachelor's degree with 0-5 years of applicable experience, or associate's degree with 3-8 years of applicable experience, or relevant certification with 4-9 years of applicable experience, or high school diploma with 5-10 years of applicable experience
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, including advanced skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with a high level of initiative, self-motivation, and a positive demeanor
  • Project management skills, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Effective interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders (internal and external), including planning committees, event attendees, customers, and other key partners
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside standard business hours including evenings or weekends when necessary
  • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to complete the following on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Ability to safely push, pull, or lift 30 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to spend substantial time walking or standing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience leading all phases of major events, including planning, coordination, and execution
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, public relations, or related field
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with software application setup and/or integration

*Salary Range

  • $46,000 - $81,000

This range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range displayed in the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries across all US locations.
