Job Overview

The Product Analyst is a member of the Analytics Team which empowers macys.com with analytics insights to support planning, tactical execution, and optimizing the customer experience. They support Product Management, User Experience, & Technology teams with reporting and analysis, delivering crucial business intelligence. The analyst presents actionable insights to aid decision-makers and assists Macys.com's A/B and multivariate testing programs. This involves designing and analyzing experiments in collaboration with internal clients like Marketing and Merchandising, as well as technology partners. The role requires multitasking through various project stages and delivering quality insights and recommendations regularly to drive business growth. Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do



  • Support Product Management/SEO, and Technology teams in identifying opportunities to increase site conversion with a focus on SEO
  • Identify technical SEO opportunities and provide data-backed recommendations.
  • Stay up to date on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and competitor performance.
  • Build and maintain SEO dashboards in Tableau, Adobe Analytics, and/or Looker combining various data sources to create a singular view ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to understand holistic SERP performance, forecasting, and make recommendations based on insights.
  • Design experiments, validate test data, conduct analysis, and report results to measure the impact of SEO enhancements on site metrics such as traffic and conversion.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify reporting requirements for new site functionality and assist in creating specifications for technology teams to implement correct analytics code.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis to find opportunities to enhance the product roadmap, present clear, actionable data and insights to digital leadership and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate full understanding and application of digital analytics tools to achieve business objectives.
  • Support and train internal users on digital analytics tools.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in digital analytics and e-commerce.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.


Skills You Will Need

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing digital, SEO, and marketing data and drawing actionable insights to support decision-making processes.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information and succinct insights to various stakeholders across different levels of the organization.

Project Management: Capability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adhere to timelines while ensuring quality deliverables.

Collaboration: Aptitude for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering, to achieve common objectives.

Problem-Solving: Capacity to think creatively, strategically, and technically to address challenges and identify opportunities for site enhancement and monetization.

Ownership: Desire and ability to take ownership of products/projects, driving them from conception to execution while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Technical Proficiency: Expertise in SEO tools, digital analytics tools, and MS Office programs to effectively analyze data, generate reports, and develop dashboards for internal stakeholders, including proficiency with SQL queries.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging search engine trends and best practices in digital analytics and e-commerce to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, tight timelines, and various business needs in a dynamic environment.

Who You Are



  • Dedicated to fulfilling ideals of diversity, inclusion, and respect that Macy's aspires to achieve every day in every way.
  • 5 years of direct experience in digital analytics or digital marketing with a focus on SEO.
  • Experience answering complex business questions connecting search engine query to sale, preference for experience with large retailers.
  • Experience utilizing SEO tools such as Search Console, Google Analytics, SEOClarity, ScreamingFrog, SEMRush, and/or related tools.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of HTML, website design, and web analytics.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in writing and troubleshooting SQL/GBQ queries.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
