Job Overview The Payables Escalation Supervisor resolves complex, time-sensitive invoice and payment issues for Bloomingdale's vendors by leading specialized research and cross-functional coordination. The Payables Escalation Supervisor ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across payables workflows while supporting vendor relationships and internal business partners. The position strengthens financial integrity, improves process efficiency, and enables consistent operational performance within Macy's Accounts Payable organization. Skills You Will Need Accounts Payable expertise: Strong knowledge of invoice-to-pay workflows, payment timing, compliance, and retail/volume-driven AP operations. Analytical problem solving / root cause analysis: Skill in reconciling invoice, receipt, and in-transit data; identifying mismatches; and determining corrective actions. Systems proficiency: Comfort navigating AP/retail systems (e.g., FedPay and internal platforms) plus Microsoft Excel (rates, ratios, percentages; reporting/analysis). Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to partner with merchants, operations, logistics, accounting, and corporate teams to resolve multi-layer issues. Vendor & stakeholder communication: Clear, professional written/verbal communication; strong customer service and active listening; ability to lead vendor-facing calls. Organization & prioritization: Strong documentation habits, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities with urgency. Leadership & coaching: Ability to review others' work (including offshore teams), provide feedback, and support training/knowledge transfer. Judgment & decision making: Confidence making sound calls with minimal supervision on exceptions, chargebacks, due dates, and next steps.
