WHAT YOU WILL DO The Watercraft Inspector role is to achieve aquatic invasive species prevention and education on Rock Lake during the summer season. As a Watercraft Inspector, you will increase awareness of aquatic invasive species by sharing information about regulations and prevention steps with boaters, anglers, and other visitors at boat landings. This position is responsible for explaining how boaters should check their watercraft and equipment for aquatic plants and animals before they enter or leave the water. During these checks, inspectors collect valuable data on boater behaviors and knowledge and regularly report the data to an online database. SOME ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES You will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:
Requirements:
* Valid driver's license. * Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends to support peak use of public boat landings. * Ability to be approachable and engaging while educating citizens. * Must be organized, self-motivated to multi-task, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Requirements: * Access to a cellular phone while at work. | |
