This fulltime position runs Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM-enjoy your weekends, holidays, and evenings off!

What does the Registered Nurse (RN) do? (Including but not limited to)

As an RN, you'll play a pivotal role in patient care, assisting physicians with exams and procedures and promoting efficient patient flow. Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards Your responsibilities will include:


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Escorting patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Recording vital signs and medical information
  • Preparing and discussing surgical care plans
  • Ensuring high-quality, timely patient care
  • Stocking exam rooms and ordering supplies
  • Providing phone support for patient inquiries
  • Assisting with administrative tasks and collaborating with Medical Assistants
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested'
  • Phones in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians.
  • Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.
  • May enter orders under a provider's direction and supervision.
  • Provides nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.

Educational and Experience Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Willingness to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate
  • Current RN/LVN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

***Oncology experience preferred***

*** Surgical experience beneficial***

Working Conditions:

Expect to work in an oncology/hematology clinic environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and medical preparations. Physical demands include extensive standing and walking, handling patients, and occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs.
