Job Description

Shift:Night
Schedule:7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 2/2/3 schedule
Shift Premium:$1.00
Pay rate:$19.25/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)



Sealed Air is seeking a detail-orientedPackaging Attendantto join our St. Joseph manufacturing facility. This hands-on position supports our packaging operations, core cutting processes, and material handling systems during night shift hours. Ideal candidates will have manufacturing or warehouse experience and are looking to build technical skills in industrial packaging production.



Key Responsibilities
Packaging Operations Specialist:

  • Prepare and process finished plastic packaging products for customer shipment according to specifications
  • Operate industrial packaging equipment following established SOPs and quality guidelines
  • Monitor packaging queues and maintain inventory accuracy using production tracking systems
  • Complete detailed packaging documentation and shift reports for quality assurance
  • Perform regular housekeeping and equipment cleaning to maintain 5S standards
  • Identify and report quality deviations and safety concerns through established protocols
  • Consistently follow PPE requirements and safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment



Core Cutting Operations:

  • Supply production lines with correctly sized and specified cores for packaging operations
  • Operate precision core cutting machinery in both East and West production buildings
  • Monitor, maintain, and operate industrial baler equipment for material recycling
  • Review and interpret automated production schedules through SOC computer systems
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on core cutting equipment
  • Ensure core quality meets rigorous production standards for downstream operations



Equipment and Technical Systems:



  • Industrial packaging machinery and automated wrapping systems
  • Core cutting equipment and precision measurement tools
  • Class III forklifts and electric pallet jacks (certification training provided)
  • Industrial baler equipment and recycling systems
  • Material handling devices and conveyor systems
  • Computer-based production tracking and inventory management systems



Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Schedule:12-hour night shifts (7PM-7AM) with rotating days off
  • Physical:Regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and reaching
  • Tasks:Manual material handling and repetitive motion activities in production setting
  • Environment:Temperature-controlled manufacturing and warehouse facility

Qualifications
Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate industrial equipment and machinery
  • Strong attention to detail with quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to read production schedules and interpret numeric data accurately
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in a team environment
  • Collaborative team-oriented approach to daily operations
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak production periods
  • Unwavering commitment to workplace safety protocols and procedures



Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Previous work in plastic manufacturing, food packaging, or flexible packaging industries
  • Experience with core cutting, slitting operations, or converting processes
  • Industrial baler operation and material recycling systems
  • OSHA-compliant forklift certification or material handling equipment experience
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, or continuous improvement
  • Experience with automated material handling systems or production tracking software
