Ipswich Aware Substance Use Prevention Coalition

15-25 Hours Per Month | Academic Year Position

Are you passionate about youth leadership, substance use prevention, and building stronger, healthier communities?

Ipswich Aware is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Grant Staff to support and guide our Youth Coalition during the upcoming academic year. This is a meaningful, part-time opportunity to empower young leaders and make a lasting impact across the North Shore.

Ipswich Aware proudly partners with the Regional Youth Prevention Network (RYPN), a collaborative initiative serving Ipswich, Danvers, Beverly, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Gloucester, and Rockport. Together, we work to reduce alcohol and other drug misuse among youth while promoting mental health and wellness.


What You'll Do

Recruit and welcome new middle and high school coalition members

Organize and facilitate 1-2 engaging Youth Coalition meetings each month

Provide mentorship, supervision, and leadership development to youth members

Attend and collaborate at monthly regional meetings (RYPN, NSYL, and Adult Facilitator sessions)

Support and promote regional prevention events and youth-led initiatives

Foster a positive, inclusive team environment where youth voices are heard

Partner with schools and community organizations to expand youth engagement

Participate in trainings related to prevention, stakeholder engagement, and youth leadership

Build strong, trusting relationships with youth and families using trauma-informed and asset-based approaches

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements

Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining trusted, supportive relationships with adolescents

High attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Experience working with youth in recovery and/or high-risk youth populations preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Valid driver's license required

Successful completion of CORI and SORI background checks required
